Shoot Reports and Full Results
So much to report on from a weekend of “two halves”!
Saturday was a very quiet affair, given the recent snow fall, which hadn’t thawed when we got there, and took some time to do so fully. Nevertheless, eight shooters braved the freezing conditions to shoot registered competition so thank you all for your stoic attitudes! Shaun Pullman came out on top with a 95/274, no-one else coming close, which, I think showed the temperature and wind affected conditions were fairly extreme!
The day thawed well, though, and then Sunday gave us far better conditions, which Dave Toomer took full advantage of to take High Gun with a perfect 100/300. Very few of these targets were not balls of dust too, which was a fine display of DTL shooting!! Well done Dave!!
Phil Morgan gave another excellent display with a 99/295 to take AA Class. Well done Phil!
A Class was split three ways at the top, nothing separating Paul Cannon, John Slatter and Bill Logan on 99/294. Great shooting all!
Dave Amos won B class with 95/278 and C class was won by Chris Stephens with a very good 93/275
Today also saw the prize giving for the Winter Series.
Ian Flower came top of the pile, Ian has shot superbly over the winter months. Very well done Ian!
Dave Toomer took AA Class for the season, A Class was won by Alan Piper, Dave Amos won B Class, and C Class was won by Pete Wilcox Top shooting over the winter period everyone!
We also gave a trophy for the Most Improved Shooter over the last 12 months, which was won by Shaun Pullman, who has shown true dedication to progress brilliantly, teetering on the edge of an AA slot! Well done Shaun!!
We also held our AGM on Sunday, showing some healthy figures for the club and giving rewards for the efforts of some club members to keep the club driving in the right direction.
Thank you all for your continued support. It really is a pleasure to be a part of this great and historic club!
A quick final mention to Ian Coley, a club member who is off to Australia to represent England, best of luck Ian! And also to young Hermione Burns, who has not shot DTL for some time, but almost shot her first 25 straight in Competition today. Well done Hermione, much more to come from you, we are sure!!
Thank you to all who come to our ground and make it such a special place!
