Shoot Reports and Full Results

Saturday saw us host the Bisley Single Barrel Championship, and we had a great turnout for this, seeing some old faces, but also lots of new faces to our ground too. Lorianne Greening being one of those, shot a PB of 81. Well done Lorianne! To do that at a new ground and from a wheelchair was a superb achievement!

Young Hermione Burns also shot superbly, shooting a personal best 76. her last round 22 also being a personal best for a single round! More to follow from Hermione.

Our High Gun and Trophy winner on the day was Paul Cannon, finishing on an excellent 94, after straighting his last 25.Congratulations Paul, and very well shot!

Nick Haley was close on his heels with a 93, which is a terrific score in which I think was Nick’s first single barrel competition.

Caroline Stanbrook and Dave Toomer also showed their class in finishing joint third on 92, both having a relatively poor first round but recovering well.

We also ran a DTL registered shoot, and 5 shooters took part, Terry Poore-Cooper shooting an excellent 99/295 to come out top of the group! Well done Terry!

On Sunday we held the Ladies All England Championship, and Karen Allen came out on top of the ladies with an excellent 99/291. Great shooting Karen!!

High Gun was fought out in a shoot off between Dennis Hudson and John Malden, who both finished on 99/294. Dennis held his nerve to take the spoils, well done Dennis! Great to see you shooting so well!

John Malden therefore took AA Class, well done John !

Alan Piper and Tom Smith shared top spot in A Class with 98/291 and 99//291 respectively. Well done both!

B Class was claimed by Dave Stanbrook with a sterling 98/292. Excellent Dave!

And stalwart Bryan Freeman proved that age is no prohibitive factor in this game, with a fine 93/274. Nicely done Bryan.

Special mention to Hermione Burns, who followed her PB at single barrel on Saturday with another personal best on Sunday at DTL with 91/264. Much more to come from this young lady!!

I have to say also, that it is wonderful to see the young talent at our ground recently. Hermione Burns, Ben Killian, and Charlotte Morris all doing really well and showing that there is real talent coming through at a VERY young age. Hopefully some of the other youngsters we have had at the ground over recent years will start returning and giving each other a good battle, after all, you are the future of our sport!!

HUGE thanks to Bernie and Tommy for filling people’s tum tums while Caroline is recovering from a big operation.

And Caroline thanks you all for cards, gifts and well wishes.

Your support as always is superb and greatly appreciated!

We are holding a referee’s course alongside our next Saturday shoot on 28th April, so if you fancy that, call the CPSA to book on.

Thank you all!
