Shoot Reports and Full Results
Tough weather conditions this weekend, particularly on Sunday, when the winds really played tricks with the targets, some high, some low… you could almost forgive some shooters if they asked for the targets to be re-hooped after every round!!…It is a great clay shooting world, however, where most are hardy shooters and recognise conditions can be tough and just get on with the job!
And where some faltered, others stayed firm, and three 100 straights on Sunday proved that with great concentration, it can be achieved in even the trickiest of weathers!!!
Saturday’s leaderboard was topped by Nicky Waghorne, who missed only one target to post a superb 99/295.
Paul Cannon hit a fine 99/294 to come a close second. And a newcomer to our club, Lee Knight, shot a superb last 50 targets, hitting every one with the first barrel, ending third on the day with 98/289.
Despite Sunday’s puff and bluster amongst the conditions, Bob Clarke shot superbly to win the South of England Trophy, along with the Vets’ title with an excellent 100/298. Tremendous effort Bob!!
The Ladies title was won by Katherine Bright. Well done Katherine!
The Junior title was won by Lewis Smith for the third time Well done Lewis!! On to achieve in the senior section now!!
AA Class was won by Dave Toomer. Well done Dave!
Jon Butler showed great consistency to shoot a second consecutive 100 straight at Bisley to win A class! Keep it up Jon!
Roger Lewis came up from Devon to commandingly take B Class!
And a very well done to Claire Milbourn for winning C Class, with a 50 straight in the middle two rounds of her 97278!! Great to see Claire!
Thank you to all for your fine perseverance in challenging conditions! It is so good to see people fight through diversity to achieve the best they can!
Which leads to a special mention to Wayne Killian for shooting his first ever 100 straight at DTL!! Tremendous achievement Wayne in such testing conditions!!
See you all in two weeks!!
