Shoot Reports and Full Results

A weekend of very contrasting weather conditions….

Saturday was very cold, given the recent warm spells, and we were also hit with some driving rain, a combination of which kept the scores relatively low.

Graham Anstey was top scorer with 97/289, and Paul Cannon followed close behind on 97/286.

Sunday was almost tropical by comparison, if a little cold to start.

Three 100 straights and four 99’s showed how the conditions had changed.

The Logan’s Doubles was the trophy on offer, so fittingly veteran and DTL Legend Bill Logan Snr teamed up with Karen Allen to take the trophy. A superb performance!

For clarification (as there was a query on the result on the day) the competition is not just on scores, it is also handicapped, 3 points per classification.

High Gun today was Nicky Waghorne, who showed his fine run of form is continuing, posting an excellent 100/299! Brilliant shooting Nicky!!

Narrowly missing out was Dave Toomer, with 99/296 to win AA Class. Great shooting Dave!

A Class was won by Bob Clarke with a superb 99/295. Excellent Bob!

Nicola Heron strove to hit her first competitive 25/75, narrowly missed out, but picked up the B Class spoils in the process! It will come soon Nicola, for sure!!

And Paul Harrison picked up the C Class top spot with 94/278. Well done Paul!!

Our September 2nd shoot High Gun was mistakenly given to Dave Toomer. His score on the day was matched by Jerry Ayshford, but we missed that, so there was a shoot off between the two today. Jerry came out on top by virtue of a single barrel missed by Dave early in the shoot off. Great composure Jerry! Well done!!

And massive credit to Mr Toomer, who takes all of what goes on in this sport in his stride and with great dignity.

There are many unsung heroes at grounds like ours, and I would like to thank Janine, Kevin, Bill, David, Dave, Malcolm and Caroline, all of whom have contributed to another successful BGC weekend!

Love you all, see you in a fortnight!!
